Ronnie Magri is an actor, born in Brooklyn, New York. He has always had a love for film and television. In 2011, Ronnie started his acting journey, and discovered his true passion for the art. Since that time, Ronnie has worked on many television shows shot in New York City, including: The Get Down, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Orange Is The New Black, Vinyl, Mozart in the Jungle, Madam Secretary, Blue Bloods, Elementary and Mysteries Of Laura. He has worked regularly on Fox TV’s Gotham, playing roles such as: Pimp, Dive Bar Patron, Inmate and Seedy Type. Ronnie was cast as core background on season one of the 1970s-1980s themed HBO series The Deuce, staring James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhaal. In the movie Bel Canto (2018), directed by Paul Weltz and staring Academy Award winner Julianna Moore, Ronnie was cast to play one of eighteen male hostages throughout the filming.

Ronnie has been featured in TV shows and movies playing a variety of roles including: news reporter, high roller gambler, parent, Cuban diplomat, perp, gangster, upscale restaurant patron, 1950s beatnik and more. His appearance allows him to play both upscale and downscale characters. Ronnie’s versatility allows him to play not only Caucasian roles, but he can also be cast as Latin and European types, and in both vintage and modern roles. He has studied acting at HB Studio in New York with Michael Beckett, and is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA.

Ronnie is also an award winning musician, music producer and DJ. As an accomplished, professional drummer, with an extensive resume in jazz & rock music, Ronnie has recorded and performed with Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees, Little Richard, Ronnie Spector & Joey Ramone. In 1988, Ronnie signed to Geffen Records as a member of the NYC rock group, The Throbs. Later, in New Orleans 1999, Ronnie became the drummer and bandleader for the Shim Sham Revue, one of the first authentic 1950s style Neo-Burlesque revival shows. In 2001, Ronnie recorded & produced his debut solo album, titled, “Shim Sham Revue - Music of New Orleans Burlesque Shows of the 30s, 40s & 50s”. Music from Ronnie’s album can be heard in TV shows on Bravo, A&E, Showtime, Oxygen Network and VH1. Ronnie has collaborated with modern day Burlesque star Dita Von Teese and has his music used in her live shows. In 2015, BurlyCon Burlesque Education & Social Convention announced Ronnie Magri as that years Guest Of Honor, for his work as a Neo-Burlesque Pioneer & Music Historian. Recently, in 2017, Ronnie had three songs from his “Shim Sham Revue” album featured on Broadway, in Noel Coward’s “Present Laughter”, staring Tony & Academy Award winner Kevin Kline.
